My essay about "The government should make “euthanasia” be legalized".

"The government should make “euthanasia” be legalized. "
The government should legalize euthanasia. First of all, it is for an individual have the right to make a choice about life and opt for euthanasia. Secondly, euthanasia helps families of people suffering from the major illness to eliminate financial burden. Thirdly, for the people suffering from prolonged illness, euthanasia can help to end pain in a fast, beautiful way.

To begin with, an individual should have the right to choose to live or die. It is unnatural for patients who have prolonged sickness to endure pain, suffering, and physical burden. For example, in the Lateran Hospital, there are many injured soldiers and other people suffering from incurable illness. These people should be able to ask the doctor to help them. Doctors should be allowed to make a recommendation for the patient who will consult close relatives and together they could make the final decision for euthanasia.

Opponents of euthanasia often claim that it is the responsibility of families or relatives to carry the financial burden for their loved ones. However, when the patient stays for a long time in the hospital for treatment, her or his family has to pay much money. Why should the family suffer along with the patients? Relatives should have the right to opt for euthanasia instead of carrying financial burden for many years and suffer their livelihood.

Lastly, it’s natural that the people suffering from sickness for a long period of time to look horrible. Euthanasia is a quick, painless death which maintains the decent look of the patient. For example, if someone is dying with cancer, his or her hair is also falling and soon he or she will become bald, which is not a pleasant sight to see. The family members would like to remember the people they love the way they were before they become sick. For religious purpose, the guests often pay respect the dead body and they would be shocked to see ugly or terrible body condition. So to be a good looking, not ugly, the family and the patient should be counseled and made recommendation with the doctor before making the final decision and opt for euthanasia.

In conclusion, it is not good to say that euthanasia is a cruel killing. In reality, no one really wants to see loved ones bearing the major suffering. God may see this point and feel suffering, too if they go on suffering. So it’s time to be not worried about it and the people should be joined with the government to make a campaign keep going for euthanasia!!!

Genetic engineering should be used to improve nature

Genetic engineering should be used to improve nature

What is genetic engineering? Genetic Engineering is a laboratory technique used by scientist to change the DNA of living organisms. Because genetic engineering will improve quality of food as well as increase agricultural production, provide possibility for cloning organs, and improve modern medicine and our knowledge of certain hereditary disease, therefore, genetic engineering should be used to improve nature.

In recently years, as the technical agriculture is developing rapidly all over the world, genetic engineering is used to modify crops. Scientists use their understanding of genetic makeup of organisms and come up with a process to improve the quality of crops. These advantages can also be beneficial to agricultural business in terms of food production. In addition, with more trees in the world, plants can absorb more CO2 and reduce the threat of global warming.

Opponents of genetic engineering often claim that cloning interferes with nature and anything could go wrong. If a human were cloned it would be identical to someone else in the world and so would not be unique. However, genetic engineering may bring large advantages to us. Now genetic engineering and cloning has been used to clone plants, unicellular organisms, amphibians and simple mammals. Most importantly, scientists have found a way to clone organs such as heart and brain cells. Obviously, the purpose is to use genetic engineering technique to produce genetically identical organs to help heart attack patients by cloning their healthy heart and injecting them into the area of the heart that have been damaged. In addition, they could grow brain cells for the brain damaged and grow spinal cells for the paralyzed.

Finally, disease could be prevented by detecting people/plants/animals that are genetically prone to certain hereditary disease. Infectious diseases can be now treated by implanting genes that code for antiviral proteins specific to each antigen. Most scientists believe that genetic engineering is essential to help future medical discoveries. For example, now biotechnology can people who suffer from sex-linked trait known as Hemophilia. Hemophilia is a condition where the person may die of blood loss when cut or wounded, which is caused by a lack of certain chemical known, which allows the patient to heal from wounds. Scientists may now insert a gene into the patients own DNA causing the patient’s skin to heal. Many lives will be saved through genetic engineering.

In conclusion, genetic engineering can make a significant contribution to the quality of crops, increase of food production and prevent or cure of human disease. If used wisely, it can be beneficial!

Myself as a Reader

Peerapat James Vijitwong
G12-2 Aug, 20

When I was grade 1, now still remember that I constantly listened my mom stories before I slept, I would be very pleased. I have liked to read the story in Thai very much while I have hated to read in English because I every times failed in English class. My first Thai story is “Three Pig” because of my mom. I felt in that charming stories so much. Until I was grade 2, I tried to find those interesting stories in the library and being concentrated with them during came back school and at home.

I remind that day I’d got interesting and hard story in Thai Language, just knew little superficial vocabularies, it was very stuck on me but I didn’t ever ask these my problems with others and continued reading Thai books and text books until I was grade 4, Thai language was very common with me. I know that reason why I could understand with Thai Language, first reason is I spent much times to read only Thai books. Second is I was surrounded with Thai society. Third is whatever I very often do it. Consequently, I’m use to with these.

Now I am studying in RIST. I intently wish to get and improve more English there and to become a priest in Japan in the future without entering into University. I knew about my vocation very well before I came here so I don’t expect so much about my degree and with high score in graduating. If this dream comes true, I would be in Japan and preaching convert people into Roman Catholic

Write about choosing your book.

I have chosen the mystery story, "One-Eyed-Cat". At first, I'd got two books in my mind and both of them were very interesting,named"One-Eyed-Cat" and "The last Dog in the World". Then I tried to read them by couple pages. The last Dog in the World is about all organisms were inflected with the terrible disease and the main characters are an honor dog and the young boy running away that harm, they must be alive and find out living people they expected. I thought this story is a such interesting story that I can't help wanting to continue reading but it is too much pages. In term of "One-Eyed-Cat", I read in couple pages, I saw the short details on the back of that book, I'm very pleased because of very challenge me.
